Why is the long run aggregate supply curve vertical?

In the long-run the aggregate supply curve is perfectly vertical, reflecting economists’ belief that changes in aggregate demand only cause a temporary change in an economy’s total output. The long-run aggregate supply curve can be shifted, when the factors of production change in quantity.Click to see full answer. If Trump Runs Again, Do Not Cover Him the Same Way: A Journalists Manifesto

Despite my nearly four decades in journalism, I was unprepared for the moment of no return that came on a July day in 2016, as a blazing sun beat down on the streets of Cleveland. Walking around the grounds of the Republican National Convention, I was looking for a column idea. I was new at this, having started at The Washington Post only a few weeks earlier. Wandering and observing, I came upon a table of souvenirs, meant to appeal to the convention attendees who had arrived from all corners of the nation to cheer on the Republican Party’s nomination of Donald Trump.

Newman Bookstore closing; hub of Catholic books in D.C.

The Northeast Washington neighborhood of Brookland was long ago nicknamed “Little Rome,” its skyline defined by the dramatic Basilica of the National Shrine and its few main streets by Catholic University, the headquarters of the Catholic bishops and various seminaries. This is a place where you might spot priests in collars on a grassy field cheering on a team of nuns playing softball. But in a city booming with new condos and cafes, the grassy fields are disappearing.

This thing you should try: the Impaloca at the Pug

My new favorite sinfully delicious late-night bar snack: the Impaloca, served at the Pug every Tuesday night alongside Impala Cantina's usual lengua, chorizo and barbacoa tacos. Individual-sized bags of Fritos, Cheetos or Cool Ranch Doritos are sliced open along the long side. A chef fills the bag with Impala Cantina's usual taco toppings – pork, queso fresco, baked beans and tangy pico de gallo. Then you're handed a plastic fork to eat the whole thing, chips and all.

Canadian wildfires have ushered in a new fire era, the Pyrocene

When the sky over New York City turned a thick, silty orange on Wednesday, 8 million residents woke up in a new era. Until this week, the East Coast had remained cocooned, thousands of miles away from the walls of choking smoke that have become commonplace in Washington state, California, Oregon and British Columbia. Not anymore. The East Coast, along with the rest of the planet, has entered a new fire era, or — as Stephen Pyne, an emeritus professor at Arizona State University, calls it — the “Pyrocene.

Review of "Unscripted" by James B. Stewart and Rachel Abrams

In the recent movie “Babylon,” filmmaker Damien Chazelle depicts the origin of Hollywood in the 1920s as a debauched orgy. In it, Kinoscope Studios — a stand-in for Paramount, which also released the film — was a dream factory that often attracted the worst kind of people and that left all but a few of them destitute, drug-addled or dead. Nearly 100 years after those fictionalized events, the billionaire owner of Paramount found himself embroiled in a series of real-life sex-and-money scandals that, in many ways, put the formative days of Hollywood to shame.

In the current climate of the war in Ukraine they were condemned for being unpatriotic and their videos were full of remorse.
