Professionally known as Coolio, Artis Leon Ivey Jr. (August 1, 1963 – September 28, 2022) was an American rapper.

In the mid-to-late 1990s, Coolio found worldwide popularity as a solo artist with his albums It Takes a Thief (1994), Gangsta’s Paradise (1995), and My Soul.

Coolio first gained notoriety as a member of the gangsta rap group WC and the Maad Circle (1997).

His most famous song, “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which won a Grammy Award in 1995, as well as the singles “Fantastic Voyage” (1994), “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)” (1996), and “C U When U Get There,” are what made him most well-known (1997).

Since 1996, Coolio has independently published albums. He also contributed the song “Aw, Here It Goes!” for the theme song of the Nickelodeon television show Kenan & Kel in 1996. He published a cookbook and started the web series Cookin’ with Coolio.

Four of Coolio’s 10 children—four of whom were born to his wife Josefa Salinas, whom he wed in 1996 and divorced in 2000—were born to her. He revealed that he has five grandchildren in March 2022 to Australia’s Today Extra.

Coolio’s child with radio host Josefa Salinas is named Milan Ivey. Their 26-year-passion old’s for music was a carryover from his father.

Like his father, Milan is a hip-hop musician who performs under the alias, Pharaoh Santana.

The rapper, according to his Spotify page, released his first single in 2020 and his debut album, PS1, the following year.

With an increasing audience and thousands of streams, Milan’s music seems to be doing just fine.

Very little is known about his nine other siblings as they have expressed that they want their lives out of the spotlight.
